Pediatric Otolaryngologist The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery is seeking a fellowship trained pediatric otolaryngologist. This full time position on the Investigator Track or Clinician Track includes responsibility for direct patient care and supervision of medical students, residents and fellows, as well as teaching and interdisciplinary collaborations in a supportive and stimulating academic department. The Department is one of the largest otolaryngology departments in the United States and is an international powerhouse in the field of hearing and deafness. The Department is equally proud of its outstanding resident education program which is home to 34 residents each year. The Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology provides services St. Louis Children's Hospital. In 2009, Parents magazine ranked St. Louis Children's Hospital fifth on its list of the 10 Best Children's Hospitals in the country; the only hospital in Missouri, Illinois and the surrounding eight-state region to achieve this ranking. Also in 2009, U.S. News & World Report named St. Louis Children’s Hospital to its Honor Roll of America’s Best Children’s Hospitals. The hospital has been recognized by U.S. News seven consecutive years. Clinical program highlights include The Cochlear Implant Program which is one of the two largest in the country, with more than 500 children receiving implants. The program is continually involved in clinical trials for new devices under development. The Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Institute at St. Louis Children's Hospital has treated over 9,000 children with cleft lip and palate and other conditions affecting the head and neck. Applicants must be board certified in Otolaryngology. This position carries a full academic appointment with Washington University School of Medicine at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
